Hey Erin
Finally got some pics of Manny to send you. Its been about 8 months I've had her and she did her first BN and is doing her first novice next month. She's been progressing so quickly over fences and in work on the flat. At her third cross country school she was jumping training fences and goes over ditches, water and banks like she's done it her whole life. She has been quiet and seems to take all of the training and first experiences right in stride. She is just a pleasure and I am so excited about her. I'm looking forward to getting another one from you!

Hi Erin,
Just wanted to FINALLY send you pictures of Jasper (4 yr old gray) and William (3 yr old bay). They are loving their new home and really thriving! I can't thank you enough for both horses. Not only are they 100% sound (passed vetting with flying colors), they have fabulous temperaments, are gorgeous movers and love their new jobs. I feel as if I won the lottery. It is wonderful to tell people that both came from SJTR! Thank you again for such wonderful horses. I will definitely keep you apprised of their progress.

Erin,
It has taken me long enough, but I am finally getting around to sending some pictures of Fav. We just got moved to our new farm a few weeks ago and everyone is settling in here. After a long hiatus I am finally starting to get back in the saddle again and boy does it feel good! Fav is doing great. He is such a love and just loaded with personality. He also acts like quite a stud and I was wondering if you knew when he was gelded? Hope to really get him going now that life finally seems to be settling. Will send more pics as I have them.
Enjoy!

Hey Erin,
Here are some pictures of 'Red Alert' who is now named Finnigan. He is jumping about 2'3 now and is getting so much muscle. He got his teeth done this afternoon and was a very good boy during the experience. He is in a paddock with a mare Hanna and he absolutely loves her, and she loves him as well. I'm hoping to show him in jumpers next season starting in itty bitty and working my way up. His show name is Defying Gravity. I'm also going to take him to shows during the winter just to hack around so he gets used to being at them. My goal is to take him to HITS next summer and show him in the level one jumpers. I really love the horse you paired me with!
Thanks,
Ryann |

Hi Erin,
Here are the promised pictures of Chase. He is doing extremely well
and has a very happy existence. He grazes in a lovely large field
daily with a bachelor buddy, Bo. Gets riden several times a week and
just loves life. Recently introduced him to riding off the beaten path.
We went on a trail ride. He loved the adventure and was the most happily
stimulated I have seen him in a long time. I think he may be an english
cross country trail horse by nature. Recently had Butch Dais out to float
his teeth. He was very complimentary of Chase and how easy going he was
through the filing process. Thank you for pairing me with my beautiful boy!
Happy Regards,

Hi Erin,
I just wanted to update you on how well my little man is doing! I adopted him from you last March '09. I gave him some time off to grow up a bit, and now we are doing some combined training and he is doing wonderful! Such a great guy, with an awesome personality! I have attached a few pics of him, so you as well as others can see how well he is doing. Most of these are from this past winter, while schooling at a few places. I will post some new summer pics soon! His name on his papers is "Real Galaxy", but to everyone here, he is just "Orion".
Thank you so much! |

Dear Erin,
Thank you so much for Mikey's Buddy aka "Brownie". He is a dear horse and shows us every day how willing he is to please us. My daughter loves him and rides him just about every day. We took him to his first lesson and it went beautifully, he really liked looking at himself in the mirrors. He is kind to everyone including his new pasture mates, he really likes playing with the foal and the foal loves having a playmate as well. He also recently went to a shot clinic at our vet's home and again he showed us what a gentleman he truly is. Thank you for picking such a joyful horse for our daughter. You were right on the mark and his discomfort was in his foot because he is a hundred percent as you said he was. We are looking forward to an exciting show season. Sarah will show him in the Gloucester County dressage schooling shows and possibly a couple of other shows too. If all goes well Sarah is hoping to make the
4-H state competition this year. We truly are grateful to have "Brownie", we can't thank you enough. We will keep in touch and send more pictures once the shows start.

Hi Erin!
I just wanted to give you an update on Harry.
He is a wonderful horse and has the best disposition.
He is adjusting well to his new environment and my kids love him.
You could not have picked a better horse for me!
I am riding a little bit in the arena but mostly walking him. My trainer is teaching me how to lunge him.
He is really coming along well. I even took him out in the trails with a bunch of other horses!
I will get you more pix and an update as soon as this weather breaks and I get further along.
Thanks again!

Hi Erin,
Thought I'd update you on how Ease is doing...she's fabulous. I LOVE her!
She's really starting to settle down nicely. She's put on weight and is
starting to look like a healthy, happy horse. We will probably start showing
this summer. She absolutely loves to jump and has natural form. We are
working on keeping her calm and steady in between the fences before really
putting together courses, but that time is fast approaching. I've never had
to teach her changes...I found out she did the naturally by an accident a
few months ago. I've started asking her to counter canter, and although she
thinks it makes no sense (lol), she'll do it, so I might also have an
equitation horse down the line. Long story short...I love this horse and
she's not going anywhere! Thanks for bringing us together!

| Hi Erin,
Just wanted to let you know that Victoryville, now Ace, has settled in nicely…He is a very sweet boy! The weather has put a damper on how much we get to do right now; but as you can see I started out day 1 by hopping up on him bareback! I Absolutely love this horse and when the weather warms up will eventually be doing some hunter/jumper with him as well as a trail horse for my hubbyJ. Thanks for the great match and for doing what you do for these beautiful, docile animals. Be sure that when I or anyone I know have the need for another horse we will be calling you! Probably very soon actually!!
Many Thanks,

Hi, I just wanted to thank you for all that you did to get me my boy Marti.
He is settling in nicely. I rod him for the first time at home yesterday.
It was exciting but uneventful, I can't believe after not riding for 4 years
I was in the saddle again. Overall he is a great boy. I have enclosed a
picture of him in his new house. I can't wait to do more. I will update
you when we really get started.
Thanks again

Well, Missy and I braved the cold today for another ride. So here are your accolades:
Miss Silver Kitty (or Missy as we call her) was adopted by my husband Terry and I on January 1st, 2010 from Erin and South Jersey Thoroughbred Rescue. Gestationally, she will turn 4 yrs old in February. And what a treat she is. She is taking well to the life of luxury here in Annville, PA especially now that her sore foot has healed up and she gets along very well with her three brothers (Frank an almost 5 yr old OTTB we adopted Sept/Oct 2009 from Penn National, Bo an 11 yr old paint, and even our 8 month old Holstein bull calf). She is such a sweet, quite mare but under saddle she is bright, smart and full of energy. I rode her today even though it didn't get above freezing and we had a wonderful time. She works off of some verbal cues, has a soft mouth and even backs up!!!! She is AMAZING! Terry and I are so impressed with her and look forward to getting her out for a trail ride very soon. That is what her pastime will be here, nothing but pleasure/trail riding. And we can tell that she will love it. She has got a great mind (curious, careful yet smart), beautiful gaits (she has an energetic walk and an effortless trot) and her body gets stronger every day. We are looking forward to watching her grow and mature. We couldn't be happier and have nothing but praises for Erin, her volunteers and the great work they do/did matching us up with the perfect horse (and I said I would never own a mare again!)! We will be back when time comes to add to our herd. Thank you so much!

Hi Barbara and Erin:
It's been two months now since Bailey has moved to the Stone Tavern Equestrian Center so I thought you might want to see some pictures of him. He is doing really well and is spoiled by many of the ladies at the barn, even those who don't think that t'bds are "all that". His personality and his calm demeanor have impressed everyone. We are are working with our trainer and having a blast. Nothing seems to faze Bailey and he meets each new challenge without fuss. We've done some jumping in the ring (indoor for now) and on the trail. So far he has been happy to go out alone, in a group or with one other horse and rider. He is an absolute pleasure
Bailey has happily adapted to his herd and has made friends with a paint called Sage (who is in one of the photos I took today.) As you can see, his face has healed beautifully and he has no problems with grooming around the right side of his face. While he put on weight the first month, now that he is with the herd and getting worked regularly, he lost a little though his weight has stabilized. He get plenty of hay and sweet grain with beet pulp twice a day. Of course, Bailey get snacks too. I am continuously amazed at how wonderful he is and willing to try everything. I will try to get nicer photos for you. Since it was sooooo cold today, I took pictures in the indoor so you could get a sense of what he looks like and the camera flash made his eyes look weird.
Talk to you soon!

| Rose Sinn is lungeing him and as you can see we are using a little training device called the Harbridge training aid. I used this little helper with my last ottb, Bobbie, and I really like how it works.
Rose is really impressed with Splash's brain. He is by far the easiest ottb she has worked with. She told me that he lunges better than horses that come to here with training : ) We were wondering if you knew of his training history prior to coming to you? He seems to have very good basics installed on him already.
For the moment we are doing some ground work with him. It doesn't seem like there will be any problems with riding him. He pays attention even when there is commotion and he really relaxes in his work. Typical of the ottb, he has a great work ethic and is happier when he is hanging out with his people and working : )
So far he has taken to life as a dressage horse quite easily. He gets turned out with all the other horses. He was good for his shot on friday which Dr. Hansen gave to him. He was good for Dr. Foster when he got his teeth done. Tomorrow he has an appointment with Mark Brandau, my farrier.
Everybody loves his name, and has a good laugh when they first hear it. Turns out that his daddy is the 1994 Kentucky Derby winner, Go for Gin. So we know how he got his name LOL
When I have room for another ottb, I will definately give you a call and I will keep in touch with pictures and updates. Our upcoming competitions goals are The Meadow show series for some Introductory and Training level classes, and if that goes well than we will move forward for the Dressage at Devon 4 year old Suitable for Dressage class in September.
Take care and best wishes in your work on behalf of the ottb!

Dear Erin,
I want to thank you for your quick response to my request for a new boy. I had no idea you would have such beauties waiting for homes. Not only did you find me the most gorgeous baby in the world but you found me two gorgeous baby boys. We have renamed these guys Alto and Gem and everyone at the barn is fighting over who will get to ride which one first. The picture I attached is only 36 hours after they arrived and they are already settling in. We are giving them a couple of weeks of just bei ng horses. They really love their new big stalls, the other horses and their paddock. We will be moving them into big pastures next week with some other horses. I am sure they will love that.
Both of these guys are so beautiful with perfect conformation, clean legs and lovely faces. I never expected such lovelies. Thanks for everything and we will send you updated riding pictures as soon as work begins. I have learned the best way to get a new horse is sight unseen. You did a great job matching them to me.
All our best from Pennsylvania, Trina |

Tori is still doing great, and still as sweet as ever. My good horse got a hoof injury at the end of the summer and she had to play in the highest level in a few extra tournaments and did very well. I've also been able to put people who haven't ridden before on her since she's so quiet and easy to deal with.
I attached a couple of pictures :)
Thanks so much,

Hey there, hope all is well up in NJ, and you are having a good start to the holidays! Just wanted to let you know I’ve taken smooch to a local indoor the last two weeks… he was GREAT! I started asking him for a bit of collection at the walk and trot, and he just got it immediately! He feels amazing to ride, especially collected up, he naturally just brings his hindquarters under him, and has so much impulsion it’s amazing. Its like he floats. When I was younger I rode a lot of high dollar warmbloods on a regular basis, and some of them couldn’t hold a candle to smoochie’s movement. Everyone says he’s a solid 8 in dressage for movement, possibly even better. Mom got some pics but it was at night time and the indoors not lighted that terribly well, so here’s some of him out in the pasture. Ill try to get some better riding pics asap… Thanks! Happy holidays! Jen |

Hello Erin,
I just wanted to let you know how special a horse Diamond is! She has been amazing! She has found a home with Kelly Rhinesmith who will board her at the barn my daughter lessons at on Fridays. She will have acres to trail on, a cross country course and a girl who loves her! The first day she came to meet her she stayed almost an hour after riding her loving on her! Diamond fell asleep on the cross tie!
Maggie, the girl that has been riding her, is sad she will not get to ride her as they accomplished so much together. At least she is within 10 minutes so that Maggie will be able to see her often. I have attached some video of Maggie and Diamond attending a jumping clinic at a local show barn. (I might have to send it in a few emails as it was taken with my iphone). Diamond just learned to jump the week before and went from jumping cross rails to a course in 1 week. Her brain is unbelievable. She has no spook. I have not jumped in 7 years and I jumped her because I trusted her so much. She goes right to the jump so quiet and sweet. My 9 and 11 year old children have ridden her with the 11 year old trotting her. She is so loved!
Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful mare with us,
Michel |

just wanted to give you a little update on Chuckels "Beamer" ! Well the first week we brought him home, it was a...disaster. i thought i was going to hate him. he threw his head in the air so much and was always so nearvous and shaking underneath me. the first time we tried crossrails he would refuse and rear and if he did get over it hed take off! it was terrible. Now a month later i can honestly say i have never fallen in love with a horse so much. it is "unbelieveable" (as many at the barn say) how much hes progressed. we went from going no where near a crossrail to succesfully jumping 2'9-3' fences starting tonight! he LOVESSSSSS jumping more than anything. ever since we put a little confidence in him, he hasnt refused a fence yet! he gives me a bit of attitude when we flat probably because hes so bored and the second he starts jumping its like he knows his job and does it perfect. i cannot thank you enough .i will send some mounted pics as soon as i can! again..thank you! i will be back for my next horse after college =)

hi Erin! Aiden is doing well, he is in training and has been for the past 2 months. He is working hard with his comformation
(he drags his back feet like a little kid) and doing great. He has excelled at jumping in the past month. I refer to him as my great dane because he follows me around the barn, and everyone loves his personality. He has a new girlfriend now who is a rescue as well with the opposite eye missing as well so they walk in the field side by side, its very cute. My cell is 732-500-6944, and I will send new pics as soon as my comp gets fixed, the inlet that lets me hook up my camera for some reason wont accept the drive, but if you can recieve picture texts I can send some that way for now. I recieved the e-mail you sent to Laura, about me and Skeleton Key but I will let her know how he is doing, she was upset about his knees, and she would love an update on him. Pax (Skeleton Key) and Aiden had very similiar personalities so we both fell quickly for the both of them.
Thanks!

| Hi Erin,
Just a note to tell you Dognapper is quite terrific… he is very quiet , just as you said. He is very curious and happy to do “whatever” happily. To say nothing of the fact, he is really attractive! He has blended well with the other 2 horses here at the farm… it’s a love fest! He is out in a big field with the other horses and has established himself, even at 3 years old, as the one to come in first! We have been riding him and he is just terrific! Thank you so much!!!
Keep me posted with other geldings like him… 3, 4 years old, 16 something hands… sound! Thanks!

Dear Erin,
Thank you so much for matching me with "Ease"...I am delighted with her! She truly is a pleasure to be around. I have so much fun with her. Although she's only been with me for 3 weeks, I can tell she's got oodles of potential. Not only is she athletically gifted, but her mind is priceless. She learns very quickly and aims to please. I don't know what her future showing career will entail, but I know that it will involve great things. Ease has put the fire back into my riding and showing aspirations. I'll keep you updated on our progress. I haven't been this happy with a horse in a long time. She has a home with me for life! And when I am in the position to get another one, I will definitely be contacting you again. Thanks for the wonderful work that you do, Shadaria and "Ease"

Erin, "Me Posse" aka Mia is settling in great at her new home with me. She knows her name and looks at me and neighs whenever I call her. We have created an amazing bond already. She is exactly what I was looking for she is very temperamental and your typical filly. I love her. She is coming along way with her ground manners. She ground ties now and if you say up she picks her feet up and say back and she backs right up. She gets lunged everyday and hand walked in the front yard to eat the greener grass (since we all know the grass is greener on the other side of the fence). She's come a long way in general; unfortunately she can not be ridden for four weeks because her feet need time to grow in from the track so she is currently barefoot and loving her vacation time off. Once she grows her feet in and gets shoes we will start lessons with my trainer. She's going to be a great jumper she jumps over all the mud puddles in the field and there was a tree down in her field and she just jumps over it like its nothing. I can not wait to start re-training her and showing her. Thank you so much for setting me up with such a great match. I can not wait to start a new life with Mia and re-train her and spoil her rotten.

She can be quite a handfull but she only got me off once so far!!
She is lovely and has a very very sweet nature.
If I can ever get someone to come over I will get a shot of her under saddle.
Hope all is well- you sure have alot of horses coming in- wish I could take

Hi Erin,

I am sorry I have been delinquent in getting some updated pics of Apple, but here they are. I truly love this little boy! He is quick study and doing well. He is in a light riding program 3 times a week for 20-30 minutes and is doing GREAT! It is amazing how much progress he has made in such a short period of time. He was very shy of new situations when I first got him. Now he is great in the ring with other horses being ridden and being lunged. Even as these pictures were taken horses were being led in and out of the barn for turnout and he could care less. He truly is a GEM and has a wonderful personality. We have truly bonded. Thank you so much! Thank you for everything you do in helping these wonderful thoroughbreds find good homes.
PS- I am hoping to enter him in a showmanship class this summer!

Hey erin.. Smooch and I went for our first ride yesterday (i lunged him a bit lastweek) and he was AMAZING! We went for a long hack out in the feilds and in the waterways, and he was perfect. A few rabbits jumped out infront of us, and he just saw them and went on by. We walked for a bit then trotted for a while, and within half an hour, we were cantering along, nice and easy, on a loose rein, having a great time, hes like a big easy rocking chair. Im a bit sore, haha havent ridden
in a while. Im gonna have the chiropractor out to check him out, I think his back/hips are sore a bit, but hes 100% sound. An adjustment wouldnt hurt
anything anyway. Thank you again, I am so happy with him, hes great in the crossties, and stands to be mounted. I didnt expect to get someone this
great and easy to get along with right away, I am very lucky and fortunate to have him. He has figured out Im his girl and hes my boy too, and loves
giving my kisses... smooch is more than appropriate for him. Thank you again, Ill keep in touch, Jen M.
I have never had such a wonderful experience buying a horse. You all at SJTRA did a wonderful job suggesting who would be a great match for
my riding goals, and I am very pleased with my boy. SJTRA is dedicated to finding great horses to place in great homes, and I am sure my sucess
with smooch is just one of many sucessful addoptions your rescue has taken part in. Your honesty and kindness say it all. Thank you all again, keep
up the great work. |

Erin,
I am happy to say that Riley is doing well. He has settled into the business of eating, and relaxing. We cant keep shoes on his feet so he is wearing an Easyboot until his feet grow in some. He is getting along with the other 3 horses individually, but I will keep him separate until he is sound enough to defend himself from them all mobbing him! I have sent some pics. One is of him and his new favorite toy, the automatic waterer!
I will keep you posted on his progress, and Thank You Very Much!!

Hey Erin,
I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate what you do! I adopted Real Galaxy from you towards the end of March and have fallen completely in love with him. He is doing great and we went for our first cross-country schooling yesterday and he did WONDERFUL. He acts like this was his calling in life and popped right over everything I pointed him at! He even did great for a little gallop that we did. He seems to be loving his new purpose in life as a little event horse! I had 3 people comment on how cute he was while I was out and could not believe he had only been off the track since the end of March! I plan on taking him to a hunter pace and a few schooling shows coming up soon, and I will send pictures of Real Galaxy, or Orion (his new barn name). It was well worth the drive to NJ from NC and I am soo happy I chose him. I could not ask for a better little sporthorse!!
Thanks again,

Dear Erin,
About two months ago, I adopted a horse from you, named Another Way, who i call Flash.
I am so happy with him and you picked the perfect horse for me. He is the sweetest horse ever. When Flash stepped off that trailer that night i was like "Oh my gosh mom he is huge!" He has excellent ground manners, and takes good care of me. I have recently started jumping him, and I'm looking forward to taking him to shows when we are ready. Everyone is in awe of him at my barn. He is such a pretty mover and a good boy. Thanks so much for picking him out and taking such good care of him.
Sincerely,
Morgan |

The horses are great! Bella couldn't be sweeter. She is really super smart and picks up everything really fast. We have done alot of ground work, and can't wait till it's warmer and we can do more. I just wanted you to know she is doing great and I'm so happy to have her. Thank you for that opportunity!
Hope all is well for you too- and we will see you on the 4th.

| Mojave Mint's
Hi Erin!
Moe was such a wonderful boy today! He has such a good attitude and a very sweet personality.
He loaded and shipped with no issues. He came off the truck and you would have thought he'd been at that farm all his life. I put him in his stall just to give him a moment to settle and to take his wraps off. I put him out in the smallest paddock with a few flakes of hay.
I took a good look at his hooves and you are right, they are terribly short. There's no way that poor guy's feet don't hurt him. I gave him some bute tonight and painted his soles with venice turpentine. I think he'll be fine in a couple of days.
He is such a nice boy. Easy to work with and very willing. I got lucky today, Dover Saddlery had a really good sale going on and I got him a Chill Chaser knit and a cotton sheet. I figure the two layers will take him through the cooler spring weather. I'm so happy they opened a store in NJ!
I am really glad he's with me, I really like everything I've seen. I'm going to get on him in a couple of days, I'd like his feet to feel better before I hop on him.
Thanks so much for all you do for these horses. Finding them homes is probably a very di fficult job and I really want to express my appreciation for all your hard work!
Thanks so much!
Warmest regards,
Jeff
Hi Erin,
Mojave is doing great. This horse is really something else. Everyone that meets him is totally taken with him. With a hundred or so pounds he will be a true show stopper.
I plan to keep him, I couldn't be happier and can wait to see who he becomes. I'd like to ask what information you need from me for the transfer of ownership. USEF requires such a document in order for me to get his number.
I can't thank you enough, I really think he is a special boy. He is curious, intelligent and a true gentleman.
Thank you,
Jeff

Update 3/18/09!
I posted some videos of my 14th ride on Tori. There's one of just some flat work, one of her first time seeing a racket, and one of a polocrosse test I thought I'd try with her. It was created by a trainer in Texas, and although she's not perfect by any means, she can do most of the moves fairly well. She's coming along really well and I'll be taking her to her first practice soon. Tori's also been going out around the farm getting used to ditches, small logs, and streams.
The videos are posted at http://www.youtube.com/user/Poloxsara21
Thanks again,
Sara Cifelli
Hi Barbara and Erin,
Tori is settling in great! I've ridden her only five times so far, but she's doing really well. We can walk, trot, and canter both ways. She even gets the correct lead most of the time. Tori also side-passes each direction and backs up very nicely. We've had barely any fuss about anything, only a few bounces during the first few canters. We've walked around the farm, gone out in the snow, and done it all by herself with no problems. She's a dream to work around in the barn, stood well for the farrier, and has no problems with cross-ties. She seems to get along with my other mare as well and they'll be turned out together soon. I'll keep you posted on her progress, but I have to say I love her!
Thanks for all your help,
Sara Cifelli
PS - I attached a picture from our first ride, and I will hopefully be posting a video within a few weeks.

Hi Erin
Just thought I'd give you an update. "Pear" was has been doing great! So
brave, shea a fantastic horse. I vetted her just to see what I had
physically and she passed! Flexions, clean x rays, a great catch! |

Hey Erin,
I wanted to give you an update on Apple's progress. He has been one of the easiest TBs off the track to retrain. He is a quick study and is already trotting circles and serpentines. He is very brave although he has his heart pounding moments. He is very friendly and it didn't take him long to figure out that I am his person. He always comes to me at the gate. He is funny at feeding time. He just patiently waits by his feed bucket he doesn't knicker or bang his bucket. He really is a sweetheart. I am so happy I found him. THANK YOU>

Hi Erin, just wanted to give you a quick update on the boys. They're both doing great. Still in small turnout, i got on Cayda (Cicada) today and he was very good. Ive been hand walking both of them in the woods and both are very, very brave. I think they'll work out perfect for what I want. Moe is the biggest sweety and I look forward to getting on him, im very happy with his attitude and willingness. Waiting for this weather to finally give us a break.
Take care,
Dineen, Moe and Cayd

I wish I had discovered you before we purchased two horses for my pony club boarders last fall! I’ll put the word out and see what we can do. My next door neighbors (on the other side) are fencing their property and interested in getting horses. They regularly come visit mine bearing apples.
Flip is possibly the most adorable horse I have ever seen! To call him quiet is an understatement! The morning after he arrived I took him out into a small paddock to meet the other guys and he was so relaxed that he dropped and rolled right next to me—see attached:
It warmed up during the day so I took the sheet off and let him graze in the sunshine before putting on his turnout blanket. I lunged him for a bit, but he informed me that he was tired and not interested in trotting around in a circle—pretty funny, actually. |

Hi Erin!
I just want to let you know that Dixon is doing great. Although I have only ridden him a handful of times... every time he is easy as pie. He is trotting excellent! He needs some work on cantering though... I cant get him to go! But he's getting better and better everytime. Everybody loves him, he is so beautiful and easy to deal with. I have little video clips of him on www.youtube.com/hotpinkhorse04 if you want to take a look. And I'll attach some pics of him too. I might bring him to his first show this weekend so I will let you know how he goes! Thanks So Much for such a great horse!

| Hello Erin!
Just wanted to say thanks for setting me up with Golden Blaze. I renamed him Royal Judgement and he's great. he met Danny (Crafty Dan.) and Tobie (friend's small horse) and they are all fine together. I rode Judgement today and he was amazing! Still needs some work though, get back into shape and stuff. He knew quite a bit of dressage, and I'm not real big with dressage and I only know like 1st level a little bit of 2nd. I'm going to set up a cross rail tomorrow and see what he does, but I was wondering if you knew where he came from or any kind of History or when he raced. I do plan on getting all his records from the Jockey Club using his tattoo number, but he just seemed so far from the track when i rode him. He did go really fast at the canter but then I got him real slow and collected, felt like we were bouncing. He drops his head at the trot and bends great. I'm just so confused, he seems nothing like a racer. So if you could think of any kind of History or how he came to your place to help meave a better understanding of this very nice horse. Thanks so much Erin.

Here is our beautiful guy! Ty and Julianne went to a cross country mounted meeting yesterday. They did well. Julianne has been working him mostly on trails, hills and natural obstacles since the ring has been too mushy, so he was well prepared for the session. ( in the 3rd picture she was telling him to be brave, and he gave her his best) They have done some stadium jumping and he is very willing and eager to please. We are so happy to have him with us, and he seems happy to be with us!
Thanks again!

Hi,
Just wanted to give you an update on Apple. I rode him yesterday (Sunday) morning and he was awesome. He is actually a little lazy and it took quite a bit of leg to get him to trot. Almost all of the swelling is gone in his sheath area and he is healing well. He also got new sneakers on Saturday. He is shod up front and barefoot behind. He was a perfect little angel for the farrier. Today is his first day of REAL turnout and he is having a great time (before he was being turned out in the indoor to allow him to settle and prevent any mud from getting in his unmentionable area). He is a really great horse. I did take some pictures yesterday unfortunately they are not digital, but when they are developed I will have them put on a CD so that I can e-mail them to you. So far he has been GREAT! He does not require a chain or anything and he is perfect for being tacked, groomed, cold hosed. You name it and he's a good boy.
Thanks for helping me find such a great animal!

| Here are some pictures RC's trainer took last week. He hasn't been ridden very much, but is going to be shared with a nice girl with a lot of experience with OTTB who will make sure he doesn't get too bored during the week. He looks good, and has a nice furry winter coat but might be bordering on overweight (which he could probably use in the winter). Oh, and the nylon halter he's wearing is a breakaway safety halter.
Happy holidays, and a wonderful new year!

| Just wanted to let you know that both horses are doing great and adjusting. Soilders name has been changed to Akasha. We are giving her as much hay as she can eat to work on building up her weight. Today the rain was finally gone so we were able to ride her, and she is a dream, a perfect match for my sister Melissa. Akasha is absolutly wonderful.
Regalo, we are now calling Titantic. He needs work in the area of manners and bossiness. My friend Paulanne who has had 20+ years training horses most of which were sb's and tb's is helping me with him. Were working on teachin him basic manners, like standing still when we want him to stand still, and walking next to us at a slow pace rather than trying to drag someone where he wants to go (which is normally to wherever there is food) He just needs to learn he is not premitted to be the boss and do what he wants, something racehorses are seldom taught. He is however, dispite his bossyness an absolute sweetheart whom ive falling in love with. He is exactly what i was looking for, something that i had to put work into that gave me somewhat of a challange, but nothing so challanging that i could not handle it.
Thank you so much for them, i will give u more updates as things progress, and send some pics of them to u in their new forever home.

| The boys are doing SO WELL. We've been taking it slow, learning things bit by bit, and they're even learning how to canter a bit now... still quite unbalanced though.
I have been telling anyone and everyone i possibly can about you guys, but so far it seems people aren't so open to having an OTTB... I'm going to make them ride my boys and see if that changes their minds.
Have a wonderful thanksgiving!

November 6, 2008 - Prime Chilly and Starship
Hey!
Let me tell you; i have fallen IN LOVE with both of them haha. They are like my children to me, it's so great. And they're so sweet =] they follow me around the paddock, but are really nice about personal space, though i will still be continuing ground work with them for forever. haha. They really do have opposite personalities, but both are smart in their own way... i'm thinking Ike is a bit smarter than chilly though haha Oh, yes by the way, i changed Star Ship Sky walker's name to Iconoclastic, and nick named him Ike... it seemed to suit him a bit better haha.
However it seems since i have gotten them, all it's been doing is raining! and the barn i'm keeping them at doesn't have an indoor, which kills me haha. but oh well.. there will be plenty of sunny days ahead.
I'd like to thank you for giving these two to me... it's purely the best thing i have ever gotten in my life. They're so amazing to me. I mean... i love ALL horses... but these two definitely have taken a large part of my heart already. There is something special about the two of them.. and i'm glad i am able to embrace it.
I will be sending you pictures as soon as the sun comes back out again! Hope things are going well between both of your barns.
have a wonderful day,
Diana, Ike, and Chilly |

Hi Erin!
Aiden is doing great at his new home. He and Pax (Skeleton Key) are best buddies in the field together. They are literally attached at the hip wether it'd be playing around in the field or just eating grass. aiden is a pleasure to be around, and I am falling in love with him more and more each day. I was able to ride him yesterday, and he was great! He is so calm and gentle to work around. Pax (Key) is also getting all the TLC he ever wanted from Evelyn and her family. Both horses became celebrities at the barn over night... they are both very happy and healthy! Again, if you are ever in the area, PLEASE stop by and see their progress. Again, I cant thank you enough for all your help! |

Hi Erin!
Both horses arrived safely around 5, I couldnt ask for things to go smoother! Trainer LOVES Skeleton Key , we re-named him Pax as his barn name. Both horses are best buddies, and not agressive towards eachother at all! My address is 82 Beaumont Ct Tinton Falls NJ 07724, and my trainer is on Sycamore Ave in Shrewsbury.. 'll get back to you with the house number, I dont know it off the top of my head. I will def keep you poasted on both horses, and their progress. Keep me posted about the SJTR tee shirts, I will definetely buy one! I cant thank you enough foir making this happen! thanks again,

I would like to take this time to thank you for the opportunity to give a home to a very loving horse, MC. My horse had never been alone in his life and when a situation arose that my pony had been returned to her previous owner I was left with one lonely boy who needed a new friend. After contacting your organization you suggested a perfect match for my horse and me, and now we have found ourselves a big happy family. Your organization does wonderful work and I am very thankful every morning when I head out to the barn and am welcomed by nickers and whinnies. MC is a wonderful addition to our family and I could not ask for a sweeter horse. I am currently working with him and my little sister to become a pleasure horse, hopefully he will even be able to work with a therapeutic riding program just a few doors down from my house! Thank you again for what you have done for me!
Much love from
Alex, Duce, and MC! |

Hi Erin,
I just wanted to let you know that RC is doing wonderfully! He's so sweet, and my trainer was so surprised at how nice and calm he is. Elise (my trainer) got him to walk, trot, and canter, and he's pretty sensitive with the bit. I've ridden him a little, and he's pretty good about doing what is asked of him. Thank you so much for letting me have him, we're starting to become quite a duo. He follows me around the paddock, and then stands still to let me tack him, clean his feet, etc. I've attached some pictures from last week, he's definitely starting to gain weight and is making friends with other horses at the farm.
Thank you so much,
Julia
